Abstract
THE PROBLEM OF CATALOGING IN HISTORICAL TEXT WORKS: TABİRÜ’R-RÜYA or VASAYA TERCÜMESİ?
Studies on historical texts occupy an important place among the studies of Turcology. Historical texts; readings on them, translating text, edition critical of translating into Turkish, phonology and morphology investigations, grammatical index, additional directory is brought to the attention of the published scientific world with different pursuits such as dictionary studies. Various difficulties and unknowns are encountered while conducting historical text studies in the related field of different disciplines such as Turkish language and literature, history, economics, medicine, theology, law, astronomy, and anthropology. It is possible to talk about many problems at this point. One of these problems is getting to know the text correctly. Because a work that is not correctly recognized / introduced could challenge many confusions. At this point, inaccurate or incomplete evaluations experienced in the cataloging process of the work will have a large share. Historical texts are kept with information notes introducing themselves in the collections in which they are stored. This stage takes place with the work of experts in the field of librarianship. Errors or deficiencies to be made at this stage will lead to erroneous data that may be disrupted. In this article, the manuscript recorded with the name "Tabirü'r-rüya" will be emphasized as an example of its related situation.
